Your Actions On Social Media Affect Your Employers

People here saying a company has no business going through your social media accounts before employing them or their social media life is private and their employers have no business with it are naive.And I find it hilarious

When trouble happens, the headlines won’t say something like “Mike Ignatius says men should not cook at home” or “Niyi Ajayi thinks women are not equal to men” nah.

The headline will read poo like “Treeline Bank staff say women are not equal to men”

Then the opening line will be “A staff of Treeline bank with handle @ Mike Ignatius has come out to say that women are lesser than men…….”

Then the brand managers have to start running around to do damage control so their brand doesn’t get dragged because of one staff

Wait until you see a picture of yourself on the biggest Nigerian blogs with poo captions like “Treeline bank staff drinks himself to stupor, is this due to the stress of working in a Nigerian bank?”

Then the bank has to spend millions on the brand

Of course, it is your private life. But are your employers/potential employers willing to expose themselves like that?

I don’t think so.

Reminds me of when that bank staff threw a calculator at a junior. That bank suffered……

Wait until you see a picture of yourself on the biggest Nigerian blogs with poo captions like “Treeline bank staff drinks himself to stupor, is this due to the stress of working in a Nigerian bank?”

Then the bank has to spend millions on the brand

A lot of people are weird.

Go through their media and in one, there is a picture of them with the name of their company everywhere, branded cloths and all and in the next, they are tweeting porn.

Cool if you work for Pornhub but certainly not an auditing firm

In summary, your “job” with your company does not end at 5:45 when you close, it continues because you are an ambassador and as much as you deserve some chill in your life, you should also try hard not to hurt your company by your actions.

Every positive action leads back to then but people will see the negative more. That is what makes the news and the headlines will be screaming their name in block letters.
