Basketball Training Update:- FIBA Online Coaches’ For TNT Panters Nigeria

Since the outbreak of the novel corona virus pandemic, the world was brought to a standstill, crippling religious, academic and other socioeconomic activities, sports inclusive. However, ingenuity forced the human race to transact and engage in productive ventures via the internet; hence, online conferences and activities replaced the old norm of physical meetings. Basketball will not be left out too.
As a means of updating, upgrading and exposing coaches to new skills, techniques and basic/revised rules of the game of basketball, the Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA)  in partnership with the  the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) , organized an online training program for coaches with a view to keeping in sync with and apprised of international best practices. This is line with objectives of the Technical unit aimed at holistic development of the game in Nigeria.
The Technical Unit and the participants expressed their profound gratitude to the NBBF President – Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kids and all the board members for this wonderful opportunity given to the coaches to participate in this training. In their words, they affirmed that “this kind gesture has exposed us to the modem coaching skills and technical knowledge of the game especially in this new era. We are looking forward to seeing other  groups like the technical commissioners, table officials and statisticians also looking exposed to this type of wonderful training and experience in no distance time to make it an all encompassing development.”
The Technical Representative of the NBBF Board, Mr. Adamu Deshi Janlong, while appreciating the participants in a friendly manner stated thus: “This is wishing all  our coaches who are presently under going FIBA coaching training program on line best of luck. This is part of the training program put in place by NBBF and FIBA in order to train our technical personnels with the modem coaching skills and requisite knowledge. Best of luck my lovely guys”.
He further noted that “the technical commissioners, table officials and statisticians will be next on line God’s willing to participate in this viable program. Remain blessed.”
On behalf of the NBBF Board, he enjoins the coaches to maximize the best they can of the coaching course and impart on the younger aspiring coaches in their localities.

  1.  Coach Christopher Okoh- Lagos
  2. Coach Martina O. Emmanuel – Benue State;
  3. Coach Jacqueline Niagwan – Plateau State;
  4. Coach Yakubu Usman – Borno State;
  5. Coach Ahmadu Abba – Taraba State;
  6. Coach Chigozie A. – Imo State;
  7. Coach Fubura- Rivers State;
  8. Coach Ibrahim Omale – FCT.
