Sadio Mane scored brace for Liverpool against Chelsea to set the pace in the Premier League following a 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Liverpool played offensively as they aim to hit the ground running from the early minute but Chelsea was resistant enough to hold back the Champions from their heavy-metal approach.

Andreas Christensen was shown a red card towards the end of the first half after he obstructed Sadio Mane in a goal-bound and he was sent off after a VAR review.The first half ended 0-0 as Christensen witnessed his first career red card.

Mane scored from a brilliant header from Roberto Firmino’s cross in the early minute of the second half.

It was an error from Kepa Arizabalaga that gifted Liverpool the second goal, the Senegalese attacker intercepted a pass from the Spanish keeper to sloth in his second goal for the Reds.

Thiago Alcantara fouled Timo Werner in the area and Chelsea was awarded a penalty in the 74th missed but Jorginho missed from the spot as Allisson Becker guess the right to deny the midfielder from the spot.
