Even though he did not get a goal for himself, Victor Osimhen made a winning debut in the Serie A on Sunday as he featured in Napoli’s 2-0 win away to Parma Calcio.
Having failed to get past their opponent after an hour, Gennaro Gattuso brought in Osimhen in the 62nd minute for Diego Demme and that turned things around for Napoli,
Dries Mertens opened scoring for Napoli in the 64th minute before Lorenzo Insigne doubled the lead in the 77th minute.
Osimhen almost marked his debut with a goal in the 80th minute but saw his effort go just off target.
Sunday’s win puts Napoli top in the league table ahead of Fiorentina on goals difference.
This is the 19th match between Parma and Napoli in Serie A and after today’s victory at the Tardini, Parma has 9 wins while there have been 7 wins for Azzurri.
The other three games ended in draws.
