Ligue 1 Runner-Up Sign Super Eagles Striker

French Ligue 1 runner-up Lille have signed Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen on a five-year deal from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi.The 20-year-old’s second transfer this summer after Sporting Charleroi permanently signed him from Wolfsburg in June before moving to Stade Pierre Mauroy to replaces Rafael Leao in  Les Dogues squad as the Portuguese is on his way to completing a €35m move to AC Milan. Osimhen will become third Nigerian to feature for Lille after Peter Osazee Odemwingie and Vincent Enyeama with Arsenal bound Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gervinho and Eden Hazard all played in the Ligue 1 side.The Lagos-born told the club official website: “The LOSC is a very good club that leads a quality project and includes high-class players, even more in recent years. Great Nigerian players have also played here. “I would like to join their lineage and follow their footsteps. I am very happy to be here and to join this great club that is the LOSC. I am still young, I am learning and I think that this project suits me perfectly to continue to progress. “Director-General Marc Ingla added: “We welcome Victor Osimhen today with a lot of fun. He is a player with great potential who has already demonstrated his value and his ability to establish himself as a good scorer in a nearby league, in Belgium, which can also facilitate his integration. “Victor is a fast forward player with a very vertical game, great physical abilities and a real intuition in front of the goal. Despite his young age, he is already international in Nigeria. “He goes one step at a time, which allows him to consolidate his nascent fame in the world football landscape. It will be our job and especially that of the technical staff to help maintain this progress. ”   During his loan spell in Belgium last season, Osimhen scored 20 goals in 36 matches across all competitions for the Zebras and he was part of Super Eagles that finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen has completed a move to Lille of France from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi. The 20-year-old signed a 5-year contract with Les Dogues for a reported €12m plus €3m in bonuses that will keep him at the club until 2024.
