Jesse Lingard looks set to turn down a potential move to Arsenal and fight for his place at Manchester United.

Reports emerged over the weekend linking the Manchester United midfielder with a move to north London, with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer losing confidence in the 27-year-old.

Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi is said to be one of the favourites to get in contact with Lingard’s controversial agent Mino Raiola, but the player himself wants to see out his current contract, according to the Metro.

Lingard has 12 months remaining on his £110,000 deal at Old Trafford, though the club have an option to extend it by a further year.

He has scored just two times in 35 appearances in all competitions this season and has struggled to make an impact both in the starting line-up and from the bench.

Yet Lingard reportedly won’t let himself be pushed out of the club he has been at since he was six-years-old.

Arsenal are interested in the England international in order to strengthen their midfield, particularly if Dani Ceballos returns to Real Madrid following his loan spell.

Everton, Roma and Atletico Madrid are also keeping an eye on developments with Lingard at United.

Despite his poor form, he is valued at £30million and Solskajer may look to offload him in order to raise funds for the summer, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho on the club’s radar.

The January acquisition of Bruno Fernandes for a fee which could rise to £68m has also put a dent in Solskjaer’s summer budget.
