Competition: La Liga
Market: Over 2.5 goals
Desperate to simply build off of last weekend’s result, a struggling
Valencia will make the trip to the Estadio de Mendizorroza on Friday
night in what could be another lively encounter.
Starting with the hosts, while Alaves may have been disappointed to
have only managed to collect a point away at relegation scrappers
Leganes last week, Asier Garitano’s men have made some much-needed
improvements over the past month. With just a sole defeat to their name
since the end of January and looking to mount what would be a shock top
half charge at the back end of the season, there is no doubt that fans
around the Estadio de Mendizorroza will be most impressed by their
side’s recent displays on home soil. Landing back-to-back 2-1 victories
off of Eibar and Athletic Bilbao in front of their own supporters, a 2-1
defeat against Villereal is Alaves’ only defeat on home soil since
opening the New Year.
As for the visitors, while Valencia may have managed to grab a 2-1
win off of Real Betis last weekend, it does not cover what has been a
dreadful run of form for the Bats. Still reeling from their 4-1
hammering away at Champions League foes Atalanta in the first-leg of
their knockout tie last month, the Spanish strugglers have lost four of
their last six matches across all competitions and have continued to
show some rather glaring issues at the back. Slipping out of the top-six
and with just a sole win to their name over the past five weeks,
Valencia have shipped at least a pair of goals in six of their last
seven appearances. Remarkably, with all 10 of the previous meetings
between the two sides producing over 2.5 goals, backing a similar
outcome at 13/10 seems like a great bet for Friday night.
Bet: Over 2.5 goals at Alaves vs Valencia 13/10 for Friday’s La Liga matchup
