Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez was at the forefront of a dismal time at Old Trafford.

And he could now come back to haunt the Red Devils one last time and pile on the misery after a special request from Inter Milan.

That’s because the Italian giants have reportedly lodged a ‘special request’ to the Red Devils for a second extension of Sanchez’ loan.

The new agreement would allow the Chilean star to see out their Europa League campaign, which will take place in Germany between August 10 and August 21.

They already agreed an extension for the rest of the Serie A season but now the draw has been made for the Europa League they are eyeing another fresh deal.

A new agreement could have a huge impact on United’s own European dreams as they could face off against Inter in the final.

Europa League regulations have nothing in place stopping loanees from playing against their parent clubs.

Sky Sport Italia claim talks have restarted between the two clubs, with the recent draw placing them on opposite sides strengthening Inter’s case.

The only way they could now meet is in the final – a game which could decide whether United are playing Champions League football or not if they miss out on the Premier League top four.

It is claimed Inter are ready to offer an additional penalty fee to the Red Devils as compensation if they do reach the final in order to allow him to feature.

But the talented former Arsenal star has the potential to cause a major headache for his former club and possibly leave the European dreams up in smoke.

Sanchez is not the only former Manchester United player that would have a point to prove if they met Inter Milan in the final.

Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young were also offloaded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the tie would make for a fascinating reunion.

There are also other options reportedly on the table for Manchester United, including a potential loan extension to include next season as well or a permanent deal.

Speaking earlier this month, manager Antonio Conte said: “We signed Alexis Sanchez to bring quality to the side.

“He’s not the same player I witnessed in England but he’s on the right path. Having Sanchez in top condition leave me more relaxed in my choices.”
