Housework has been helping Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to stay fit during Spain’s lockdown due to the coronavirus.

With football suspended and players training from home, the German has been offering his services around the house.

“I
spend most of my time in the living room and kitchen,” the goalkeeper
told Barcelona’s official media channels when asked about his daily
routine.

“But I spend time in the gym, too. There are a lot of exercises that I’m repeating every day.

“Sometimes I train before breakfast.

“Then I clean the house, which is also like exercise. We’re doing it right.”

Despite not being able to communicate in person, Ter Stegen insists that the players are in constant contact with the club.

“It’s very easy to communicate,” he said. “We’ve been split into a number of groups so it’s easier. Contact is continuous.”

Recognising his status as something of a role model, the German is aware that he can have an impact on other people.

“We’re all in the same situation and have to keep motivating people to stay home,” he explained.

?”We can influence others and we have to remember the importance of not going out.”
