Terry G proclaims his musical retirement

Terry G, whose true name is Gabriel Oche Amanyi, gained popularity in the late 2000s with his upbeat dancehall/gyration sound that conjured up images of white garment church music.

Renowned for his quirky demeanor and popular songs like “Akpako Master” and “Free Madness,” Terry G established himself in the vibrant Nigerian music industry.

The musician announced his retirement on Instagram, thanking his followers for their steadfast support over the course of his career.

Terry G made his announcement following a recent video in which he reminded people that, while in his heyday, he helped numerous musicians score hit songs and called out artists who refused to respond to his messages.
